As I continued my quest for the perfect spot to unwind, light up, and savor a fine cigar, I rediscovered Orange County Cigars

Oregon Man Cigar Lounge Reveiw #3

There’s something to be said for walking into a cigar lounge for the first time and immediately feeling like you belong. That was my experience at Orange County Cigars, located at 2470 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa Ca.

I arrived shortly after opening and was greeted with a friendly welcome that immediately set the tone for my visit. There was no pressure and no sales pitch. I was simply invited to take my time and browse the humidor to make my own selection.

Nathan, the owner, introduced himself and told me that if I had any questions, just ask. I really liked that. Sometimes the best hospitality is simply giving someone the freedom to look around while letting them know there’s knowledgeable help available when they need it. After spending some time looking through the humidor, I settled on a cigar I hadn't enjoyed in quite a while: Liga Privada No. 9 by Drew Estate

The Lounge

The vibe at Orange County Cigars is chill, comfortable and relaxing—exactly what I look for when spending an afternoon with a good cigar.

There’s a smaller front lounge area near the humidor, but walk farther in and you’ll find the main lounge, which can comfortably accommodate around 20 people. The room is furnished with oversized, comfortable leather chairs and multiple television screens, giving it that classic cigar-lounge feel without becoming overly busy or distracting.

The dark walls and ceilings create just the right atmosphere. It feels masculine and traditional without being stuffy. More importantly, the ventilation is good, allowing you to enjoy your cigar without feeling like you're sitting in a cloud of smoke.

One detail I particularly appreciated was that each chair has its own table and an oversized ashtray. Those little touches matter. You have your own space, somewhere to put your drink, cigar and accessories, and plenty of room to settle in and relax.

And if you want some fresh air, Orange County Cigars also offers an outdoor patio with tables and chairs, giving you another option for enjoying your cigar.

If you’re looking to enjoy a cigar or two while watching sports or news on multiple big screen TVs in a friendly inviting environment to come see Nathan at Orange County cigars you won’t be disappointed.

Oregon Man Cigar review

The Liga Privada No. 9

It had been quite a while since I’d smoked a Liga Privada No. 9 by Drew Estate, so I was looking forward to seeing if it lived up to my memory.

Nathan had told me I could expect some earthy flavors, and he was absolutely correct. This is a full-bodied cigar, but I wouldn’t call it overpowering—as long as you give it the time it deserves. This is not a cigar to rush. Smoke it slowly and let it develop.

The flavor is big, bold and complex, with a dense richness that stays with you. Earthy notes are right at the forefront, joined by deep espresso and roasted coffee tones that give the cigar plenty of character. There’s a richness here that makes it very easy to like, especially if you enjoy a cigar with some weight and substance.

What really impressed me was how well the cigar performed. Once lit, it burned evenly and consistently all the way through. I never had to relight it or make a single touch-up. For me, that’s always a big part of the cigar experience. When a cigar simply burns the way it should, you can forget about the mechanics and concentrate on the flavors. The Liga Privada No. 9 reminded me why I enjoyed it in the first place. It’s bold without being harsh, complex without being complicated, and full-bodied without demanding that you fight your way through it.

The Oregon Man Rating: 8/10

OC Cigar Lounge: 9/10

Just give it your time, take it slow, and let the cigar do all the work.
